where to change a 6408d+ display from time/date to name/extension?

not sure what the name/extension feature is, do you mean directory?

in any case the display buttons/softkey assignments are on page 4 of change station xxxx

what i mean is on the display of the 6408d while it's idling it shows the time and date and if there's a way to change it so it show name and extension instead...

this is not possible from an administrator's point of view

24xx digital and 46xx IP handsets show the extension number on the LCD display however

great thanks for the answer definityandcmuk, 24xx & 46xx series what is the soft/hardware requirement? current have a G3v10 and cm 1.0.1

Your version will work for the 24xx. The 46xx (IP Phone) requires a little more than the digital.
