Display number of records of Nth most frequent value 1

How do I get CR (8.5) to display the number of records associated to an Nth most frequent value? I've placed the 5 most frequent values of my report in the report footer, I want to display alongside each one of them their corresponding number of records. ie:


Most frequent values Number of records
05/03 15
05/02 11
05/04 8
05/05 5

Instead of using the Nth most Frequent, why not just add a cross-tab that counts the values for each day, and then do a TopN of the cross-tab that only shows the Top 5 rows.
