I have several multi user databases on a network. Occasionally, especially when the database is open for an hour or so, It will lock up for no apparent reason, with "Disk or Network Error".

There doesn't seem to be a reason for the error, and other applications are not affected. When this happens, the only way to close the database is Ctrl-Alt-Delete.

I don't think it's a bug in the code. Anybody else have this problem?

something isn't communicating correctly.

are you linked to any SQL or Oracle tables? they have a time-out. if one of these linked tables or a query or form built on them is open for longer than time out (60 secs default i think) then i get that.

i've seen this too when network share is too full, or unavailable for other reasons like network is down.

are you linked to other access tables, or excel or some csv or text files on another share? if so that share could be too full or unavailable.

if none of these check
put in 'disk or network error' there are lots of articles, might depend on what OS you have too or even network hardware.

good luck--g
