I have an interactive form/database being used by about 10 users.

Suddenly after months of working correctly users are now receiving an error dialog box popping up after they begin working. The messsage is "disk or network error". That is followed by SQL errors(I don't know much SQL) indicating to me that Access is no longer understanding the Queries. The interesting part is that on opening the database, everything works. After about 2 minutes, however, the database quits working.. everything on the form turns to #name or #number. When i bring the database window up, all my tables have disappeared. If I close and reopen the database. Everything is back but it will still go through the same cycle.

Is this an error similar to "network connection lost"?
If it is, I know what it takes to fix.. but that takes a very long time. Somebody please help...

How long has this been going on? It sounds like there may actually be an error in your network. =============

I'm guessing your database isn't split - front end on the user's computer, back end on the network. If it's not, you'll have this happen much more frequently (this will also cause your database to be corrupt much more frequently).

Try splitting it, if it's not already.

We had this problem. it was two things. The transactions were being interruupted on the network and also, the client station had an obsolete MDAC version and could not recover like it is supposed to.

Thanks for all of your help. We're beginning more and more to lean towards a network problem.(Damn LAN).

Garth-- we did split the database, but they were both on network connections. But, your suggestion of putting the front end on the hard drive and be on the network makes sense.(you ever read something and think---duh!?!)

You all have been great help....

I'll let you know how it goes
