Suddenly my VB6 application is displaying the following error message :

Disk or network error.
OK

Clicking OK and the message window (containing a red cross) disappears and the application function as normal.

I can't even trap the error.

Ideally would like not to have the error, as it may frighten the users !

Any help/guidance much appreciated.

Regards,

Moben.

Have you put a stop in the code execution to see where it is failing?

Walk through the code and see if you can figure out at least where the error is generated from.

Kinda difficult for users of this site to give you insight to your problem at this time.

Hi Andy,

The last statement resets the mousepointer and then it End Sub. I've walked through the code, but I can't see any incorrrect code.

The problem only started occurring earlier today, and I have restored working code from yesterday, but I get the same error.

I've also reparied the Access DB, but still no luck.

Moben.

Does the access db have linked tables. I am assuming it does and that they are located on a network drive. Do you still have access to this drive? Is there enough room on this drive? Do you have total acces to this drive?

Hi Andy,

Thanks for your replies, and answer is basically 'Yes' to all your questions.

The Access DB does have links to Excel spreadsheets contained within the same directory and the there is sufficient space available on the drive.

Lost for ideas !

Moben,

In most cases this is from faulty network connection.Could be a cable, a network card... Have you shutdown the server and restart?!?

Jerry,

I have'nt re-booted the server (not possible during day time), but I have gone into a similar VB/Access application on the same server/drive, and I have no problems.

Something to do with the Access DB, but I don't know what ?

Regards,

Moben.
