Well, to make a long story short, I have 2 drives (were dynamic). I had to reformat/reinstall W2K twice and now Disk Management is saying I am missing two system partitions.

How can I remove them from Disk Management? It's not like they are going to become active again.

Thanks
Daniel

Bit confused by your description. 2 drives (were dynamic). So, they're both basic now?

What exactly does disk management display and where is the 'missing 2 system partitions' message?

Hello again...

The primary drive with W2K is still basic, I haven't converted it to dynamic. However, the slave drive is still dynamic.

In the right pane in Disk Management, where it lists the volumes (Volume/Layout/Type...etc) at the top of the list with Red X's and it says "Missing System Partition".

It was formatted twice... so... that's why there are two missing entries. It gives you a choice to reactivate the volume, but I don't need to... and it gave me an error when I tried it. I can't figure out how to remove it from the Disk Managment data. It's not going to be active again so I wanted to remove both missing volumes from the list.

Hopefully this clears things a bit.

Daniel.

Hello Daniel, try to solve the problem this way, remove both disks from machine, than set one as primary master, format it, if possible with Low Level Format routine (each disk manufacturer should have one),do the same with another disk, then conect them in order You want,(primary master primary slave) and install win2k.Good luck.

Before You leave, download two programs,Win Hexx and Paragon Disk Wiper and try them.

If I remember right, is there not an option to remove disk if you right click on it (The grey area on the left).

Well, an update... I figured out how to remove those two missing drives with the red (!) marks.

I found out if you remove the partitions FIRST on the missing disks, then when you right click on the disk, it gives you an option to remove it from disk management.

Daniel.
