disk error 1

Help! AIX newbee. I have a customer that is getting an error: Error log analysis indicates problem reported by disk drives Self Monioring Function.
100% hdisk1 00-00-0s-1,0 2.0 GB SCSI Disk Drive

There is plenty of space on the HDD. I cleared the error out and but it comes back every couple of months.
They are running level 4.3.2 on a 7009-c10.

I suggest you check the microcode levels, and download and install the latest.Those kind of errors are most of the time due to microcode

command 'errpt -a' will give more detail on the problem. however, with a bad disk there is little to be done, in my opinion. but that depends on the error.
