Hello. I have a server with 2 drives in it. One of the drives has large folders that are compressed using the ntfs compression feature. i had a problem with the server. anyhow we ended up getting a new server for other uses, and we have an extra 40 gig drive. since i was gonna have to reinstall os on the problem server, i have decided to throw the extra drive into that server and boot from that drive, and have the other 2 drives stand alone(which is good so if i have a problem again, i can simply fix the boot hd and not worry about data loss from the other 2). Anyhow, when i throw that new drive in and install 2000 server, will it detect that i have compressed folders? what if the compressed data is too big for the drive when uncompressed, and the data is uncompressed, will i run into huge problems? thanks for the help in advance.
