What would be the best approach on a solaris 7 or 8 system to discover the IP address.


Would ifconfig -a be the best way.

is there some problem with using "ifconfig -a"?

Its not a problem.

I just wanted to make sure it would work on Solaris before I tried it.

I am a SCO Unix guy Solaris is new to me.

What would be the default location of ifconfig (on solaris)

/etc/ifconfig ?
