So after a week of trying to explain what I need from Verizon on one of our analog backup lines I have given up.
We need disconnect supervision turned on. So when they caller hangs up it drops the voltage for a second and brings it back.

Right now all I get when someone hangs up is (ring ring ring, please hang up and blablabla... then fast busy)
The line itself stays active so I get long useless voicemails on the auto attendant.

I was thinking about getting one of these...
Anyone used this before?

I have (unsupervised analog disconnect) turned on but this doesn't seem to work to well. I have voicemails with busy signal 5 mins long.

Joe, the provider can't/won't/don't understand, so it's not activated. Try busy tone detection or find a competent provider :)

yes I agree find another vendor!!!

I can't just pick another copper telephone company. They are the local telco.

I am using it as a backup line for our main trunk. The reasoning is if our main trunking went down we would have a backup through a different provider.

Right now we get our PRI through comcast. And out internet through comcast. They are however on seperate coax lines and use seperate modems. BUT it's still the same company for PRI and Interne....

I think I will just use megapath. They have a 5 line minimum but it comes out cheaper for that than getting just one analog through Verizon. It will go through the Internet side of Comcast.

Don't you just hate it when providers stick you with whatever they want and refuse to help you. They know they could activate COD for you, but just won't.
