We have installed Seagate Info and are using it in a production environment. I noticed that the Seagate Analysis button on the toolbar is enabled for all users. I want to disable this so that a user cannot get into Seagate Analysis. I cannot see how to do it and would like some guidance on this issue.

Thanks in advance,
Bessebo

This option is enabled on the toolbar because it was selected during the Seagate Info installation. The best way to disable it, would be to uninstall Seagate Info then reinstall it with the correct components.

If you would prefer not to do this, you do have other options.

1) Modify/Delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Seagate Software\Query Client keys in each user's registry - NOT RECOMMENDED.

2) Delete Qclient.exe from C:\Program Files\Seagate Software\Query Client for each user. This will not disable the toolbar button, however, it will render it useless.

3) Ensure that the Seagate Analysis Server is not installed. Seagate Analysis won't run without the server, regardless of the locally installed executables. You would receive the following message "Unable to find any Info Servers that are configured as Query Servers. Please contact your system administrator".

in the admin module you can configure the Info Servers so that they do not act as Analysis servers (a tick box under control properties for each server). This will give the message rhinok describes in 3) even though seagate analysis was originally installed. Icytrue

By clicking off the checkbox in the Info Adminstrator under Info Servers and Control Properties that says "Design Using Seagate Analysis" this was the best solution. The user gets a message that says "Unable to find any Info Servers that are configured as Query Servers. Please contact your system administrator."

This was the end that I wanted to accomplish. We don't want users to start playing with Seagate Analysis until we have determined that it will be beneficial to them
