I have loaded my SB5.1 3 times and made it my default player. Everytime I play a music cd, windoze media starts up with the SB player. Just short of disabling auto play, is any way to unistall or disable the media trash player? Motorcycles@computers are the main stay of life rafales@alltel.net

disabling media player

You can do a couple of things short of uninstalling. You can right-click the type of file you want to open as default with your player. Choose "Open With" and then "Choose Program". Select the program you want to open with. Select the option to "Always use this program to open these files". You will see the program icon will change for the file and the default will be set.
If the program is set in the startup you can change that by selecting Start/Run and typing msconfig this will give you a startup tab where you can deselect the startup program and it will be gone from the computer startup next time you boot.
