I would like to find a JavaScript that could prevent hotlinking of my midi files by other web sites (they play music on their sites by connecting to my midi files by my ISP) and thus steal my bandwidth. I already tried an .htaccess file with no result. Any help on that issue would be appreciated.

try some of those solutions, it looks like it should be simple enough to adjust for your files instead of images.

Sometimes, when my code just won't behave, I take it outside and make it listen to britney spears music, and when it comes back it's really well behaved. I wonder if it's suffering from post tramatic stress syndrome now..
