Disabling Design view as per faq181-1021 still shows database view?

Hi.

I followed the instructions in faq181-1021 but my 'database' window keeps appearing even though I have 'Display Data Base Window' unchecked! Here is what I've done...

Tools
Startup
I'm using switchboard form.
Uncheck 'display database window'.
uncheck 'allow full menus'
uncheck 'allow built in toolbars'
uncheck 'allo toolbar/menu changes'
click advanced button an duncheck 'use special access keys'
Save all forms.
(I did next step and set all forms shortcut menu option' to NO.)
Any sugestions please! Thanks

I am using swithboard as my startup form. Is this an issue as the faq says to use a plash screen.

In your startup, did you give it the name of your switchboard form?

Thanks for the reply, but I've double checked that.

I am using the contact management db created by the wizard to test with. By default it displayed 'switchboard' in the startup box.

I have since built a splash form and tried that in the startup box but the database view still appears minimzed.....everything else seems to not appear as unchecked.

I found the answer and as usual, its simple. Thanks for getting me in the right direction!

In the form open event of the switchboard there is code from the wizard that minimizes the database window. This unhides it. The startup checkbox works but this command kicks in afterwards. When I comment out these commands it DOES hide! GEEEEEEEzzzzz!
