We had a user downloading hard porn at work. Hes since been removed. The problem now is how to remove the auto completion of all his searchs.

Im not talking about the auto complete in the address bar at the top of IE, as we all know this can be turned off in Internet options > Advanced. Its also not the cookies as i deleted everything in the temporay internet files to no avail.

The problem is the drop down arrow which appears when you type anything into any text box on an html page: such as doing a search in google. This brings up a long long list of dodgy seedy searches.
I need to prepare the PC for his replacement and I do not want them to either be offended or tempted!

The PC is windows 98 se. with IE 5.5 sp2

What Ive tried so far is:
deleting cookies.
looked in IE tools.
Ive removed IE 5.5 back to IE 4 and then reinstalled it.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

wakubi,

Right-click on the taskbar, choose properties, click the Start Menu Programs tab and click the Clear button.

Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools>InternetOptions, click the Delete Files and Clear History buttons (IE5 or higher)

If that doesn't work:

After clicking the Clear Forms and Clear Passwords buttons,
backup the registry and/or export the following keys:
go to Start>Run, type regedit. Navigate to:

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms\SPW

and delete any encypted entries that are listed in the right pane window.

Finally to delete the hidden index.dat files:

Click Start, click Shut Down, click Restart In MS-DOS Mode, and then click OK.

At the command prompt, type the following commands, pressing ENTER after each command, and pressing Y if you are prompted to confirm folder deletion:

cd\windows
smartdrv
deltree cookies
deltree history
deltree tempor~1
exit
