I have a very small network set up for testing purposes running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise. I have active directory set up and everything is running fine. Just for the hell of it I tried to disable one of the computer accounts but I was still able to log onto the domain via that computer. This seemed strange so I went a step further and deleted the computer account. I am still able to log on with the account deleted all together. I tried logging off and restarting both the client and server but I am still able to log on. What causes this? Is there something I need to do to purge the account out of the serve some how? I am rather new to the whole server environment and am looking to obtain the MCP and eventually MCSA and MCSE. These seem like really basic concepts but I seem to have trouble grasping them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Seth.

my exp is regarding less the statues of the computer account, as long as the computer is in that domain, u can log on no problem. but, some GPO won't apply to computer protion.

Need more information. What is the OS of the pc in question? If it is a 98 box it doesn't need a computer account to access the domain, only valid user credentials.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
