I have turned ever single option off for Windows Media Player 10, but it still goes out the internet. I know that it's trying to get to the internet, because we use a network wide Internet filter, and we have it set to pop up a big warning when anyone tries to access a "forbiden" site.

Has anyone come up with a way to prevent WMP 10 or any other version from trying to talk to the Internet.

I use the Firewall I have and just block it from there.

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately that won't work. We have to allow streaming video and audio to some of our users.

"We have to allow streaming video and audio to some of our users".

So what you are saying is you wish to deny access for some users but not others?

Can you use the security access permissions on the wmplayer.exe to prevent those users from using WMP?

"In an enterprise environment, an administrator can configure group policy to prevent Windows Media Player from accessing the Internet".
