disable double clicking on the word program

Does anyone know how to disable bringing up "my computer"
by double clicking on the word "programs" on the start
menu? I have locked down desktops for students using
policies but they can easily access the C drive and all
the other drives by simply double clicking on "programs"
from the start menu.

any help greatly appreciated, it is driving me mad!!

what operating system ?

if XP/2000 and you have Windows2000/2003 Activty directory, you can setup network wide group policy,

if just XP/2000 workstation you need to set it up individually

Sorry, yes the workstations are windows 2000 and we have windows 2000 server with active directory. we already have a group policy for pupils, do i need to put this registry key in computer configuration, windows settings, security settings, registry?
