After installing a new MS XP pc on our network we found that several other pc's on the network began to issue broadcast messages to all other servers and PC's on the network. I found that the Microsoft security bulletin
MS01-059 gives a good account of why the broadcast messages started and how to prevent the issue occuring when a new XP PC is added to the network (basically - disable the UPnP service on the XP PC - check the bulletin for full details)
However, I can't stop one of the Window 98 PC's broadcasting even though we have disabled the UPnP service and all the communication services (chat, hyperterminal and phone dialer)within the Windows set-up tab.
Does anyone know of any other service or process which may be causing the broadcast and how to disable it.
