I need to find out how to disable an account instead of deleting it. I don't want to permanently delete the account, I just want any email coming to it to be rejected and a message sent back to the sender that the email account does not exist. Does anyone have any idea how to do this?

Thanks

Hello,

You can add the user to the "#DenyAccess only" view in the NAB.

R6: names.nsf\Admin\Groups\#DenyAccess only

Hope this helps.

Thanks, but I'm not really sure how to go about doing that. Do I deny access by going into database access control? Do I deny access to everyone except the administrators? Thanks!!

Hello again,
I apologize for not being more clear. You can modify the ACL as you desire, I would keep the Admin access though. We tend to leave the DB on the server (setup a reply agent if needed) for two weeks, modify the ACL then burn and deliver to HR.

In order to Deny access for the user, you will need to concern yourself the "No access server" field in the Server Document. This specifies the group you need to modify (add user), in the "#Deny Access Only" group.

To modify the group, edit the appropriate group (following path in previous response) and add the user. This will deny them access.

Hope this helps.

Rgds,

John Judge
