DirectX Does Not Have 3D Capability - Please Help!

I just finished building a computer for a friend that uses a nVidia GeForce FX 5200 video card made by Gainward. After my friend brought it home yesterday, he contacted me earlier today and told me that when he tried to run a game on the computer, he kept getting the error message that states "I need version 8.1 directx/higher or my video drivers are not correct." Even after updating his drivers, the problem would not go away. He then did a "dxdiag" on his computer, and it stated that his computer video driver does not have 3D capability. How can I help him fix this problem?

Read a number of people having problems with this card and would suggest trying one of the hardware forums.

Check the card is fully compatible with your motherboard. Get motherboard bios update. Upgrade to directx9b.
