I have imported speed dial entries into the directory and would like to dial them through shortcodes. I have tried the system default recommended shortcode of *0N# with no luck, it just doesn't work (dead air). Am I missing something here? I tried dialing *0010 and *0010# to dial speed dial number 010 with no luck.

Try this
7n
Speed dial
N

This will allow you to dial 7 followed by the index number
Eg. Dial 7001 for speed dial 001 etc

Each directory number will need to be assigned an index number

I will give that a try, do the numbers in the directory need to be prefixed with 9?

Typically, yes.

What's odd is that the manager help file indicates that this can only be used on Nortel phones? This deployment has all 9600 series IP phones. Have you used this with IP/Digital phones?

Odd. It's works fine. Just make the shortcode, it'll work dandy.

No it dosen't
Release 8.0+: The Speed Dial short code feature can be used to create short codes to dial the number stored with a specific index value.
but it is a bit ambiguous because the earlier paragraph is referring to M& t Series Handsets which I believe have a speed-dial button (have not actually seen one on an IPO in person)

Yes the short-code does work on all handset types

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

The feature (using the index numbers) fits in with an existing command on M and T series phones so they can use it without the need for any short code.

However, access to it using a shortcode works with any other phones.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
