Direct links to ASP stop working

My ASP pages are not working. This happened when a MS patch was installed on the web server. (not sure)

Any direct links to an ASP page is not working. Now if you change the asp name to default.asp, then it works.

example... if I have a page called default.asp

http://www.homepage.com

<- works

http://www.homepage.com/default.asp

<- Does not work.

Has anyone run into this problem? Is there a fix?

check the default document for the site make sure that default.asp is listed and at the top.

I'm confused by your question. 2 parts of it contradict the other:

Now if you change the asp name to default.asp, then it works.

http://www.homepage.com/default.asp

<- Does not work.

Can you please clarify what the problem is in more detail? Please also let us know what "Does not work" means. Any errors? What patch was installed?

There was a URL checker ran on the server.. and it did not allow any direct links to any ASP pages.

The tool was turned off and everything seems normal now.

The error was Page could not be displayed..
