There is a key stroke short cut to mark and then delete a series of files from the system. This short cut takes them off and does not require going out to the recycle bin to empty it. The short cut takes them off completely by itself. I can't remember that key combination.

Windows 98. Killing temp internet files and cookies. Currently I have to remove a series and then go out to recycle bin to empty. I want to mark and kill continiously without having to stop and empty the bin. Any suggestions would be apprecaited. Thanks.

To highlight the files click on the first one, then use shift + downarrow to highlight which ones you want to delete and then use shift + del to delete and bypass the recycle bin.

If your using....IE6....Go to
Control Panel>Internet Options>Advanced......scroll all the way down to security area.....
Check the box "Empty Temporary Internet Files when Browser is closed".
I don't recall if 5.x has this feature

To stop things from going to the recycle bin, right mouse click on it, go to properties and select 'Do not move files to the recycle bin'.

My suggestion will keep you from having to even bother with deleting "Temp Inet Files".......

However....the other 2 guys's good suggestions will definitely deal with the cookies and any other large groups of files you want gone at once.........

you know, you can (highlight/select) grab sets of files with your mouse(hold left click and encompass files).....right?....if you even use one.....
