We did put the Rad on a live digital station port and connected it with 9x9 serial cable. When we tried to connect it just tells us that the rad didn't respond. Is there a certain digital station port that it needs to be punched down to, or can it be set to any dsp?
Make sure you record the password you set on the RAD. (I usually write it in sharpie on the back) Once you set it, you'll need to use that same password every time you use it.
well we verified in the maintenance portion of the programming that that dn port has the rad device on it. we also set the password as well. I know that the Rad cant be bad unless both of them that we are using are bad. I have no idea. ??? any other ideas will be greatly appreciated.
We have set the speed to 19,200 and also tried it at 9600 like the book says to but still no luck. Is there no software that the system needs to have to realize that there is a rad connected to a dn port.
Also, are you sure that the serial cable that you are using truly *IS* a serial cable? Have you tried it on an external modem? And, are you sure that you are using the correct COM port?
