I have a US Robotics modem connected to ports zero on my pbx, but cannot get a prompt. I have tried a nul modem, but it didnt work.
I remember hearing that there may be DIP switch settings that I should change in the modem to work properly with a Nortel PBX.

Does anyone know these settings?

Thank you,

Jeff

USR Modem setup: Connect your PC directly to the modem.
Set switches 1, 3, 7 & 8 down.
Open Procomm or Hyperterm to the modem.
Enter AT&B1&W&W1
Set the modem switches to 1 & 4 down.
Reset modem power and connect to the PBX.
Be sure to check the speed setting switches
on the SSC face to match your interface.
Null modem cable not needed.
Connect your PC to the PBX using a null
modem cable to be sure it's not the port.
Good luck!
