dimm slot on abit be6II rev.2 non op (mainboard)

have 128meg dimms in banks 1,2,3 bios reports 256 as does system info, should be 384, pulled dimm out of slot 2 put in slot 3 bios reports 128 should be 256, put dimm in slot 3 get long post beeps (award bios) no boot, must be memmory test failure, load all banks,alls well but wrong memmory count ,checked all ram in ka7-100 board dimms work fine, use crucial 128meg pc100 CL2 ecc am i missing something somewhere? maybe in bios?i have 2 of these boards and both do this, 2 lemons in a row?os is win2000 but i don't think that's a problem
 
Some of the abit boards when you install ecc ram into them don't go as high as they are specified in the book. The book usually is based upon using non ecc ram.
