I bought a 64MB PC-100 stick this weekend to put in my computer. It is a P-133 32mb of SIMM right now. When I take out the SIMM and put in the DIMM. It just beeps constantly. Does anybody have any sugessitions of what could be wrong?

you took one SIMM out ? in pentium systems you must have SIMM's in pairs the PC wont function with just one in. take all the SIMMS out and try just the DIMM (168 pins, SIMM 72 pins). do you mean you have a P133 processor, if you do i doubt the new DIMM ram will function and suggest you get some EDO memory. If in doubt get the Ball Pein Hammer out

Sorry about that, I meant I had four SIMMS and I took them all out and put in the one DIMM. In the motherboard manual it says it can use DIMM RAM, but it never refers to the speed of it. Would it work if I traded it in for 66Mhz RAM. Yup its a Pentium 133.

can you tell us what motherboard you have.i know in some older mb would only accept edo dimms pc-66 only which also used different voltage.

A mother board that I used to have would require me to change jumper settings to select whether I was using the SIMM slots or the DIMM slot. You might have to change a jumper. Normally you can use a PC100 DIMM on a MOBO that hads a 66Mhz bus without any problems. The memory would just work at 66Mhz.
