Thank you for your reply. Sorry I did not get to this sooner. Do to the nature of my job, there are some weeks where I am at a remote location with no phone/internet/dsl etc. I am using out of the box AutoCAD 2005. I wonder if the drawings that I am using that were provided to me by other trades is causing the problem. In any event, I think you are on the right track, but I do not know how they are creating their drawings. I am a long time vet. of AutoCAD, but I am very uncertain about what type of data/routines/lisp files can be packaged in a drawing file. I am going to try saving their files as dxf files and then bringing them into my drawing and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for your help.
