Hi,

My query is as follows.

We have a non geographical number which uses an IVR prompt for the agent ID, the call routes directly through to the agent after the caller has input the agent id.
However the dept are complaining that they have lost 90% of sales since this has been implemented as the callers are business associates and they all keep the number in their mobiles as a speed dial. They seem to think that the business caller is forgetting the agent id they need to input, so when they use the speed dial on their mobile they get to the prompt and forget which numbers to input. It doesnt seem difficult to me but apparently this really is a problem.
What they are asking is this: Can the caller use their mobile like a fax works. Ie if you use commas on a fax it pauses and then dials the next numbers.

So if they programmed their mobiles to somehow pause after the first number dials and then input the 4 digits automatically. I didnt think there was a way this could be done and Ive tried fiddling with my mobile but to no avail.
As this is a non geographical number, the call automatically routes to the VDN then the vec off the network, as soon as the first 11 digits is dialled.

I know this is a long shot but does anyone know of a way I can get around this???

Any help would be brilliant!! Thanks for reading.

Yes this is possible, I use it on our MOBEX network to dial my intuity voicemail, then pause, then enter extension etc.
If they enter the non-geo number followed directly by a "p" (nokia mobiles press the * key several times). This will pause and then they can enter the agent id. An example over here would be 0870 123456p5123.
This should work for you, if the pause is not long enough then you can use "pp" etc.

Hope this helps

Thanks so much...thats brilliant. That will save me so much time reprogramming them all back to normal DDIs.

Brill. Thanks again
