Digital Test Set???

Anyone out there know if they make a butt set for meridian digital phones? Rather than trace out the cable to the TN or bring a spare phone, it would be helpful just to plug a test set into the jack and find the extension.

they made one years ago, but they didn't last long in the field. if the tn is hot, i just take a 2616 to the jack, call teh switch room and have someone here do a trace. you can add a trace key to any set, it prints both tn's on the all system term's. that avoids the ld 80 trace... even a non switchman, call any coworker and ask for a trace, when you get back to the term, you have the tn

Hi fmielbye & johnpoole;
If you have any information where i can purchase a Digital Handset for M3904's for Meridain 1, Please let me know, I want to purchase one, I have 70 Buildings over 1000 Acres and it is a lot easier to carry a digital handset than a telephone.

Thanks John, I may try taking apart a 2616 and see if I can jury rig something. I have Greybar looking into it too. If I find something I'll forward it on.

might be just as well to rig one, greybar may have one, the only one i ever saw was very expensive, i want to say 3 grand or so, and it didn;t last that long. the ggod thing now is with the newer software a 2616 will give you dialtone, regardless of the as built type.. older rls's wouldn't do that
