Digit Conversion

Hi all, I am trying to setup a digit conversion. But am having a problem setting it up. What I am trying to do is I have phone numbers for my sites and TIE lines for the same sites. What I am trying to do is when I see the number for the site being dialed change it to the TIE line number to make the call. That works fine but where I am running into a problem is say the TIE line is down the calls need to run with out the conversion taking place. How do I go about doing this?

Not sure you want to do that in digit conversion. Try using a route pattern. 1st choice is use tie trunk and delete 6 digits (npa-nxx). 2nd choice is use PSTN deleting no digits.

Ok I created a new route pattern that contained the two route patterns that contain what I am trying to accomplish. But the call just hangs not dial or conversion. My route pattern is listed below. the only change i made was to the first line which instead of inserting 8 digits I placed the TIE number to get to the site in the field. I can dial this number and get to the site any ideas what I am doing wrong?

don't insert anything as nothing is needed. just delete 6 digits assuming grp 22 is your tie line.

the number to dial the location over the TIE line is completely different than the PSTN number to dial the location. The number on the route pattern is the TIE number to dial.

So you have 5 digit extensions on the far end?

No the first two digits are the TAC code for the Trunk and the next 3 digits are location number on the network switch.

you do not need a tac. The trunk group (22) is already identified on the route pattern form. What is "location number"? The extension?
