Hi everyone,
I have Avaya Definity 8700 with CM3.0. I want to get two Multi Carrier Cabinets for back up but the ones I have found have a slightly different equipment than my existing cabinets and I am not sure about compatibility. Let's say if one of my cabinets goes down (I had this happen during a lightning storm) I want to bring in my back up cabinet and have it run without any problems. At the back of my existing cabinets I have the following model number: SD-66969-02 J58890A with a J58890CE-2,L11 batterie charger and J58890CE-2,L10,7 power distr unit, with 631DA1 and 631DB1 power units. The ones I am thinking of getting for back up have DC J58890CF-2L11 units at the bottom of the cabinet and power units 649A. Are there any problems I might run into and can I use my circuit cards in both cabinets even though they have different power units?
Thanks

Start by checking the power plugs. Your existing cabinet could be either 120V (NEMA 5-50R) or 220V (NEMA L14-30R) AC.

The newer cabinet that you are considering is designed to work on -48 Volts. The 649A power units are used to do DC/DC conversion to obtain the correct voltages required.

The cabinet are not compatible.
