Going to download Oracle to have a mess with. I have the wrox book “beginning oracle programming” but when I went to the website there was a 10g. My question is, is the 10g just an upgrade of the 9i, if it is what is the difference between 9i and 10g ie is there much of a difference from a novice point of view because the book says use oracle 9i or should I use peer 2 peer to get the 9i installation files
Thx T

AsciKey,

Newbies will not notice a difference with 10g. The main differences with 10g are architectural rather than syntactical (from an end-user's perspective).

I hear they fixed some XA transaction bugs in 10g.
Liam Morley

"light the deep, and bring silence to the world.
light the world, and bring depth to the silence."
