Hi, I am looking at providing Direct Inward Dialing numbers to a small branch office. As far as I know there are 2 ways to do this. The first is to install analog DID trunks. The second is via a PRI or T1. I would like the PRI but can't cost justify it.

Does anyone know of other ways of providing DID service? I do want the numbers to be local to this office and have no other offices in this city.

There are some CLEC's out there that will provide you with DID's anywhere in the county + local ones. So all incoming calls would come into the main branch and then go out over IP trunks to the remote office. This works fine, until your WAN fails then the remote office looses DID service. The remote office should still have some POTS as a backup trunk group for 911.

Thanks phoneguy55, do have the names of a couple of the clecs that provide this?

Don't remember off the top of my head. But there was a simmilar thread that was started here maybe 6-8 months ago. This guy had the same problem as you. I forgot the name of the CLEC.
