Hello all,
I will be installing some DID's from different area codes other than from where my 8700 sits.. I was wondering if anyone out there has done something like this.. more curious how you might have addressed the dial plan.. or if maybe someone could shed some light on the the "incoming Calling Number - Delete and Insert " fields..on a trunk form.
here is some detail:
S8700 sits in SC (864)
Branches in other area codes, ie: NY, TX, GA, CA... Broadwing is able to bring in a range of DID service from each state on a PRI-ISDN trunk, trouble is that the DID ranges are all over the place.. I opted to have maybe block out a group of extension like 4000-4999 on the 8700 and have them(broadwing)strip and replace each DID with something that would fit in the 4000-4999 range..They are telling me that it is a big maintenance nightmare to do it this way.. so I started to think about other methods of doing this... so now I am looking at the trunk form as I mentioned above... but then I thought that maybe I could bounce it off the group here on tek-tips.. So here I am .. looking for a better method.. I would appreciate any thoughts and/or Ideas, lessons learned..or even a dont do it !! warning..
