I just recently purchased a gigabye GA7ZM motherboard with a duron 800, I'm running it with 128MB RAM and I can't get it to boot with my Diamond Viper II, the system powers on and nothing comes to the screen. I have an old PCI Matrox Mystique which I decided to test and it works fine, I can't get it to work with the Viper II. I have tried various settings on the card(2x/4x) and I've tried changing some BIOS settings but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem(that are not "Get a new graphics card") would be helpful. Thanks.

I'm assuming you haven't got onboard graphics or if you have it's been disabled in the BIOS.

Well firstly, if the monitor light stays on standby (flashing or goes orange or something) or it says, "No signal or input disconnected" or something similar then it MIGHT be a problem with the card itself. Check it's firmly in. BUT before you chuck the card away and get another:

You could try putting the Viper in and clearing the CMOS then trying it again. There is likely to be a jumper on the motherboard that you need to use to clear it - it should say in the manual - which you usually swap around and leave for 5 or 10 mins or so just to drain any ounce of power out, then whack the juper back in the original place and give it a whirl.

Good luck :)
