we are trying to automate some keystroke intensive applications on old ibm 3270 emulator. in order to do that, we need to create an array part numbers from the screen, open a dialogue box to get some information and then using the array, update records based on the information that is entered in the dialogue box.

i am looking for examples of how to do this. anybody got anything, (not even close) that they could share

Staats,

I think if you scrape data from the emulation screen you can load them into a text file and load it into an array from there. Good luck with the dialog boxes though, I tried to do a couple but it frustrates me because you actually have to type in the sizes for the form and the controls.

Depending on what your wanting to do, you could set a location on the screen to equal something in your code, and have it updated based on your input from a Dialog box.

MyField = MySession.Screen.Area( 01, 01, 01, 06, , xBlock)
