hello! can you please give me an idea on how to configure my home computer so i can dial it up from the office? i sometimes forgot to bring some files to work, can you please help.

Thanks a lot.

I think you'll need a special program for that, which is to say I've never heard of any other way to do it. Look at PCAnywhere made by Symantec. I'm not sure if it will do the job for you as a response may be needed on the end at home. Just a thought. Justin

PC anywhere will do the job, however there are some security issues you will need to explore since the machine will be left on waiting for your call. Ed Fair

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply.

Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

If using Windows, can this not be done using 'dial up networking' as installed off the disc?

PCAnywhere, Timbuktu Pro, Reachout, or if you're running a broadband connection at home, you can set up your own FTP server (check your provider's AUP before doing this - there are other ports than 21 to use to prevent standard scans) for simple file transfers.
