I have an NT server which has a mail server running on it. I have a remote computer which requires to dial up to this NT server and send and receive emails from this mail server.

What configuration will be required on the windows 98 remote machine and the windows NT server to be able to do this.

Also please let me know if the server is a windows 98 machine. Is a dial up to this machine possible as above.

Install RAS. Then after that is working correctly, (you should be able to ping and use other forms of communication with the server) point the mail client to the server.

In order to browse the servers resources, you will probably need to make sure that on the 98 (dial in user) the work group name is the same as the domain name. If not you will probably not be able to browse the server etc.

You didn't mention what mail server. As an example for you. I set up Exchange server (many versions) and have users dial in. They open outlook which is point to their Exchange server. Bam done deal.
