Have lost the ability to make the above icon appear in the systray. Help! It's driving us mad.

The Dialup network connection is controlled through a program called rnaapp.exe in the C:\windows\system folder. It is activated when you start that connection. The status in the icon tray may be controlled be the modem driver. It is essentially a modem diagnostic. try this it may or may not work............
open up Windows Explorer->Dial Up Networking->Select the connection you make->right click and go to properties->Genereal - Connect Using should list a modem type, click Configure->go to Options->Status Control -if the tab is clicked, unclick it and hit okay. then go back and reclick it. If it is unclicked, click it and hit okay, then try to do a dialup connection..

you can also end the dialup connection by simply Ctrl + Alt + Del and closing Rnaapp

Email me if this works or not, i would like to know.....->
