Hi,

We have a IP406 V1 system & DS30 running V3 software.

The problem we have is when a number is dialled either via speaker-phone or by lifting the handset the "timeout" is way to short.

Basically unless you know the number from memory and can dial is very quickly the handset just hangs up the line.

we have a number of different digital handsets so i think the problem must be system generated.

I have tried changing the system dial delay timer from 1000ms to 4000ms but it made no difference, although I don't think this is the right setting to change

Any help would be appreciated as I have allot of unhappy users at the moment.

Thanks.....Pigsfoot

Thats the right timer, but maby you must do something at the Dial Delay Count.

I always use second dailtone and
Dial Delay time is set to 4000 or 45000 ms
an dial Delay Count is set to empty.

Dial Delay Time (ms): Default = 4000ms (USA/Japan), 1000ms (ROW)
The time the system waits following a dialed digit before it interprets all the digits dialed as a unique number. This allows Short Codes and Extensions to have overlapping numbers, for example extension "555" and the telephone number "5551234".)

Dial Delay Count: Default = 0 digits (USA/Japan), 4 digits (ROW)
The number of digits to wait for before interpreting the dialed digits - this acts earlier than the dial delay time if this number of digits has been entered.

I mean 4000 or 4500ms (not 45000)

Just curious, have you done a system reboot when chaning the dial delay?

That’s great, Thanks very much for all your help.

I have set the system to

Dial Delay time - 4500 ms
Dial Delay Count - Blank

And now you can dial out without getting burn mark on the bottom of your fingers.

Once again, thanks for your help, much appreciated.

Regards....Pigsfoot

Also consider changing any 9N or similar short codes to 9XXXXXXX style so that outdialing of the digits doesn't take place until the required number of digits has been reached.
