Can anyone describe how dial-peer's work how I need to configure them???

Thanks

This is getting into deep water, so do I need them? all I want is to allow the phones in one office to dial a prefix, which takes them through the PBX and out to the Cisco, which has an HDLC to another Cisco through the PBX at that end to dial reception.

Sounds like you might be able to get by with a "connection plar" which as soon as you pickup the port on the near end, it'll ring the remote end that you define.
