Hello

I am looking for a diagnosis tool (presumably on a floppy disk) which, once inserted into its drive, will check that the floppy disk drive, modem, etc are working properly. If not, the tool should be able to pinpoint the error (wherever possible).

Any advice appreciated.

Many thanks

Well, a program I used years ago (not sure how up to date it is these days as I still use my old version on my old PC's only), but you can try finding AMIDiag. Though the name indicates AMI (as in the BIOS manufacturer of the past), this handy tool which fit on a floppy could test just about everything that was controlled or set in the main system BIOS.

Make a bootable floppy and viola, you have a boot disk with a pretty extensive set of diagnostic tools for hardware functionality.

Good luck!

You computer manufacturer may well have such a diagnostic tool for download.

You could as well see if SiSoft Sandra would do what you need:
