dhtml and anchor tags

I have a scrollable area using the usual <divContainer> and <divContent> tags, however the scrollable area is so long I want to use anchor tags to jump to certain areas, the normal <a href =&quot;#name&quot;> works in IE but not in NS. Please can anybody help.
