I've just recently rebuilt my machine. It hasn't changed at all except for a new HDD and it's all in a new shiny case. But when i've come to connect my NTL broadband modem to get to the internet it doesn't work.
XP Pro seems to class the connection between the modem and the comp as a network connection then when the software from NTL runs it says it can't get onto the internet because I have no DHCP -somethings- free. It says there is one and that is already in use, there are no other network connections on this PC.
I don't know how to release DHCP or if it's even possible. I haven't set DHCP up or not that i'm aware of anyway. I've just done a standard install of XP Pro, plugged the modem in and stuck the CD in the drive.
