Hi my dhcp server can issue ip address , subnet and gateway to the dhcp client but the client did not manage to get the DNS ip address. Why is that so? Anyone can help?

Thanks

is this true on all clients?
or just one?

check the IP connection properties box on the client...
it can be set to get an ip address by dhcp, but to have dns servers specified manually!

getting quite good at sorting out Windows problems...
An expert when it comes to crashing Linux distributions (mdk, debian - nothing withstands me)

All my clients don't get the dns ip addresses. In my active directory environment, i have 2 sites in the "site and services". Each site with different subnet across the WAN. Each network has it own dhcp server. One site dhcp is working fine and the other DHCP some how unable to issue ip address of the dns server. please help

Yes the server is authorized.....green color with arrow pointing up

ok. and it issues addresses ok.

you have server options and scope options...

on your 'problem' dhcp, which type of option did you use to configure the gateway IP??

and which 'number' did you use when filling in the dns server ip (by this i mean, routing for example, is 006)

i have the 005 name servers 015 dns domain name and 003 router set at the scope option. Server option was empty

Thanks

are you sure the IP properties of the network connection is not set to 'manual DNS'... it can have dhcp for IP address and specify DNS manually...
check n be sure!!
