Have three computers that take for ever to obtain a ip on PXE. If connect a hub on the switch, I get a ip in seconds. we have a 6509, vlan interface is configured for ip address helper, no directed-broadcast.

Any ideas?

Still have the problem, any ideas!!

Hi,
Not taking an eternity due to speed 'auto negotiation' b/n switch and PC..?

ie. Some older switches take a very long time to negotiate with a gigabit ethernet controller what speed they will use (100MB full duplex usually).

Check that the PCs in question do/don't have gigabit ethernet controllers. If they do, plug them into a gigabit switch port and see if that helps..

Else try upgrading PC's ethernet drivers..

Cheers.

Would help if we knew OS's, server types and all. Thanks.
