We have 2 DHCP servers, each set up with different scopes, to service our clients. Both servers have stopped servicing clients. Event log: 1041 Source: DhcpServer

"The DHCP service is not servicing any clients because none of the active network interfaces have statically configured IP addresses, or there are no active interfaces."

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and what we need to do to correct it? Thanks in advance!

The error message your getting could point to a couple of different things.
Firstly, I assume both your servers are still connected to the network? That would explain the active interfaces part.
Secondly, check to make sure the the server has a static address itself. A DHCP server cannot hand out addresses unless its own interface has been assigned one first.

Yes, each server has 1 IP, statically assigned to the NIC.
Both servers are alive and well otherwise. This has happened two other times in the past. Our network admin re-installed the TCP/IP protocol one time, the other he just "moved" DHCP to another server. Yesterday, the same short term resolution - just moved it to another server. I want to know WHY this happens. What is the real problem here. It's obvious that there is a problem somewhere but where exactly?
