I want to remove a DHCP server that has many DHCP reservations. There are multiple DHCP servers covering the same subnet. So to move a reservation I would have remove an exclusion on one server and add it on the others.
Now let's say I move one of these reservations. When this client needs to contact the DHCP server, what will happen? It can only get its reserved address if the server hosting its reservation answers first. If this server does not answer first, it will just receive an address from the regular pool.
Or are all authorized DHCP servers in AD aware of which MAC addresses have reservations?
